Where did you get your start?
My blog started off as a way to showcase my creativity through clothing. Back when I started in 2011 my mom hated my sense of style. I was also trying to find out what my real style was and what I wanted to do in my life. I created Astronaumica to document my journey to find myself and my style. Let’s just say my mom loves my wardrobe now!
How would you describe your style?
I would say my style is simple and minimalistic. Over the years. I’ve slowly curated my wardrobe to be exactly what I want it to be. I strongly believe in the idea “less is more.”
Who are some of your style icons?
Style Blogger Karlas Deras, The Olsen Twins, Nicole Richie and of course Rihanna.
If you could style anyone who would it be?
I’d style my mom just to see if she’d like it. I wonder if she would even let me..lol!
Give us your best styling tip…
When your building your wardrobe or even an outfit, start with a basic piece first and work outward. I believe you can always work around basics instead of having a lot of extravagant pieces with nothing to wear them them. Lauren Conrad’s Style book taught me a lot about the beauty of basics.
To celfie or not?
When there is amazing lighting a selfie is an absolute must!
Coffee, Tea or Champagne?
On weekdays Tea. On weekends champagne!
What drives your ambition?
My ambition is driven just by the simple desire for success and to live a life of creativity that I enjoy. I want to be able to say I made a way for myself just by doing what I love.
M+D: Well said.
Name three things you should have done today…
I should have written a bit more, designed more, and taken some time out for myself to relax and meditate.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given and the best you can give?
A couple of years ago, I didn’t really know what I wanted to do with my life. I was busy trying to please others with my life choices instead of focusing on my own happiness. My major was Biology and I was miserable. My Uncle was the person who finally advised me to just follow my dreams no matter what and that advice has really gotten me to where I am now so I always advise people to do the same. Do what makes you happy and don’t let anyone else guide your dreams.
If you could have dinner with anyone alive or dead who would they be and what would you eat?
It would either be an avocado salad with Anna Wintour (Avocado is her favorite food) or Italian food with Meryl Streep.
